Pippi was at a kill shelter before Paradise Valley received her photo and jumped into action. Poor Pippi had mammary gland tumors, and they took her to Dr. Dana of Malibu Coast Animal Hospital. Dr. Dana discovered that the tumors were cancerous. Instead of giving up, she made sure that Pippi could be part of a trial for a new cancer drug. As a result, Pippi was in remission for almost three years after the trial and was great with everybody at Paradise Valley, from little kids to kittens.
