Roxy won several races while on the track before her owners planned to send her to Canada to be a Premarin mare. Premarin is a type of hormone replacement therapy that uses pregnant mares' urine. Premarin mares are the victim of a sad fate in which they are hobbled, impregnated, and then their urine is harvested for products. Their foals are killed when they give birth, and the cycle starts again. Thankfully Roxy was spared this fate and instead became a member of the Paradise Valley family.
